Pole Star

The story has been completed under full moon light. No artificial source of light is used. This is a conversation between two friends. Both are unable to speak in a language which has limitations of its own.

Aahna: Hello Ryan! How are you? (More stress on ‘you’)

Ryan: I can’t believe you called me up at this time, that too after a month.

Aahna: Oh! Common. It’s only 10:00 and I thought you were busy studying for exams.

Ryan: No No No. I haven’t studied since a month, that’s the truth.

Aahna: Then what you were doing? Cooking Food. A’hn! (Giggles)

Ryan: Don’t laugh. I got my legs injured in an accident.

Aahna: So, that’s a Good News! (Excited)

Ryan: What? (Surprised)

Aahna: Yes! You don’t have to write this Semester Exam.

Ryan: Oh! But I thought you would be much happier. This time you won’t have to make upward comparison.

Aahna: (laughing) Why you think so?

Ryan: Think Like? What? (Inquisitiveness)

Aahna: That I can’t score more than you in Exams.

Ryan: Because you… (Unable to complete sentence) Leave it. Leave it.

Aahna: Anyway, I am just waiting for the exam. (Sounds Confident)

Ryan: All the best, then.

Aahna: But you know Ryan, I have never been good in Astronomy. I get confused when they speak of Constellations, Galaxy and things I don’t remember, and that is the first paper.

Ryan: Oh! That’s the only thing which I like. It’s interesting.

Aahna: I don’t know… (Completes this sentence in a broken voice)

Ryan: Don’t worry. I will teach you.

Aahna: But you can’t walk and come. I don’t even have the book. I gave it to my friend.

Ryan: I will teach you now. (Speaks with a smile)

Aahna: How? (Surprised)

Ryan: Look upon the Sky. Brightstars, Moon and…

Aahna: I never thought you were so intelligent. (Smiles)

Ryan: Stop making fun of me. I will cut the call otherwise.

Aahna: Oh! That’s not fair.

Ryan: Look above. Can you see a ring around Moon? It’s full Moon tonight.

Aahna: Yes I can see. They are Bright.

Ryan: Fine. That sounds good. Now tell me, are you able to locate Pole Star?

Aahna: No. I can only see Moon. Rest is twinkling stars. They are many and stop speaking like a Nerd.

Ryan: Oh! Common. I am able to see it form here. Why don’t you?

Aahna: Wait! (Small pause) Yes! Now I can see it. It’s Pole Star.

Ryan: (Smiles) I know you are not speaking truth. You remember, in class you were not able to answer a

single question in Astronomy. (Laughs)

Aahna: A’hn! Believe me. I can see. (Trying to pretend) It’s just parallel to Moon. (Speaking in a broken sentence)

Ryan: (Laughs) Is it so? I see!

Aahna: Yes! I know Sailors use Pole Star for finding direction. (Becomes silent for a moment)

Ryan: I know. I know. You will describe everything other than what is required to answer.

Aahna: And you mean to say I don’t know anything. (A little bit arrogant)

Ryan: Of Course you don’t. (A long Silence)

Aahna: Ryan! Look upon the Moon. Can you?

Ryan: Yes! I am looking.

Aahna: How it looks?

Ryan: Bright. More brighter. It’s full Moon tonight. She is the governess of Tides.

Aahna: (Irritated) That anyone can say. I want Ryan to speak of Moon for Aahna.

Ryan: How shall I describe it to you? (Asking innocently and expecting an answer)

Aahna: Ryan. Listen. Together you and I can see this Moon at the same time; adore its celestial beauty, tender colors, although we are separated by length of time, this Moon nullifies the time between us. I feel as if we are sitting together and talking. (Voice becoming sweeter and softer)

Ryan: (After a pause) I don’t think so. (Sounds Analytical) We both are at our House. Not together.

Aahna: Oh! God! I called you this time to learn Astronomy? (Questioning in a louder voice) Put the phone down. (Repeating twice. Louder than earlier)

Ryan: Did I say something wrong? But… Actually… (Surprised)

Aahna: I said, put the phone down. I don’t want to talk to you now. (Phone Disconnects)

It was almost after three decades they were sitting together near seashore. Hand in Hand, as we see in Movies. Tonight they were being watched by the governess of Tide. It was Full Moon. This ambience made them feel back in time and Ryan started teasing Aahna.

Ryan: Can you see Pole Star?

Aahna: Yes! Now I can. It is between two constellations. Cassiopein and Big Dipper. (This consists of seven bright stars)

Ryan: I think that night you told something like, ‘It helps sailors to find directions’.

Aahna: (Smiles and then Laughs) Yes! And you remember how you described Moon? “More Brighter. It’s full Moon tonight. She is the governess of Tides”.

Both were laughing on each other answers.

Ryan: You know Aahna, I think that day you were trying to teach me something of… (Incomplete sentence)

Aahna: Something of… What?

Ryan: (Smiles) Something of you and me. And I must say that it took me a long time to understand.

Aahna: What have you learned my Dear?

Ryan: That Moon was mere infatuation, attraction and love for me, but this Moon is detachment and ecstasy for us.

Aahna: Oh! I see. I never thought you were so intelligent.

Ryan: Oh! Then show me Pole Star.

Aahna: I already know. No need to show you.

Full Moon

It was a beauteous evening, calm and pure. Their conversation went on for a long time. It was a time when they could see the reflection of soothing moon light in their last cup of wine. A few empty bottles lying on the same table. They were sitting on a table at sea beach. Water waves were making their feet wet. After some time they decided to have a walk along the beach under they open sky with wet bare foot. Each of them were supporting shoulder to continue the walk. It was all effect of wine that led them to support each other.

Drinking Wine alone lowers the level of consciousness and makes you forget everything and makes you feel happier. And drinking wine with the saints engrosses you in ecstasy. Where there is neither ‘I’ nor ‘You’. I and You become singular. The two friends were not able to distinguish between ‘I’ and ‘You’. Ecstasy was synonymous for them. After all they were meeting each other after almost two decades. Now they were so called grownups. Both were more learned than a teacher.

They both gave a prolonged look to the Moon, too high in the Sky. A friend said, ‘Brother, do you see the beauty that resides on the face of the Moon? ‘Yes, my friend, this is the beauty which comes on her face after fourteen days of longing’, said another friend. Each day beauty waits for the Moon to get complete and on fourteenth day, she comes to her as a bride, makes her the most beautiful celestial creature and allows two beloved souls to talk about her on earth. O My friend, you made me learn that the Moon becomes more beautiful if seen through the eyes of Wine. But my friend true beauty comes only in a spiritual accord.

Second friend said, ‘My Brother, this reminds me of my beautiful thoughts. I will marry the most beautiful girl in the world’. I will find my soul mate. Another friend was watching the high tides and enjoying the sounds when water makes after clashing with the rocks under moon light. ’You are not listening to me. I said something’, said the second friend. Another friend looks with a smile upon his face and says,’ Dear friend, I have been listening you since a long time. The time when we celebrated our first cup of wine and when then was not enough wine left to be served for us. I have been listening to you.

When you said, you want to find your Soul mate. It exalted and made me proud for you. But when you said, 'You are seeking soul mate in most beautiful girl in the world'. This adds demise to my happiness.

Now that what you seek is more of flesh rather than what I suppose you were longing for. Two souls are already destined to meet each other even before bodies meet. That is the language of the God. She speaks in symbols. And when you uncover the veil of mystical beauty form her face, you encounter a small child residing in her heart. You fall in Love with that Child, reset is meaningless mysticism.

“You won’t understand anything, what I am saying”, said another friend to the first. People always want to marry beautiful people. They seek someone whom they can portray in the society as of their better half.

“Yes my dear, but they say that sometimes Evil transforms itself into beauty. And then it becomes very difficult to distinguish between the beauty of Nature and beauty of Evil. A many times the beauty of Evil is far more beautiful than Nature. The absence of a single Moon makes you see uncountable celestial beautiful creatures at the same time”, said the first friend.

And other friend said to the first, ‘You are drunk too much”. “No. It is the wine that is speaking though you and me”, replied the first friend. Wine has a mystical wisdom which very few people realize. The beauty lies in being consumed by the wine even after consuming it.

Beauty of Nature is in simple things and that beauty unveils itself in spiritual accord, being utmost simple and fragile. And that beauty which becomes the victim of Evil, never flowers. It stops at the plane where only eyes can fathom. You remain unaware of the flowering beauty which needs no eyes to feel. You can easily connect with them in their highest manifestation. And that gives you Peace, Happiness. It never inculcates longing or desire.

My friend I am speaking of 'this' beauty.

After some time they were struggling hard to walk even with each other’s support. Now they were lying on the ground in unconscious state. They were consumed by the wine even after consuming it.

Sirname

In a small village of Beirut two happy souls were going to be blessed with a baby in a few months. And the arrival of their beloved was going to bring a new happiness and engross love among them. They discuss about the naming of their beloved.

Husband : What shall we name our Beloved?

Wife : You say.

Husband : Alone, it is not me, who will name our Beloved. It is we.

Wife : Delightful, but what if the surname be matronymic. (from mother’s side )

Husband : You and I are the One. And why our thoughts struggle to make a choice of matronymic or patronymic surname?

Wife : It is the feminine side which gave birth to you and I and we must respect that nourishing God by giving matronymic surname to our Beloved.

Husband : It is me who will never mind matronymic or patronymic surname and I do respect the feminine side. I let you decide to name our Beloved and give surname of your wish.

Wife : I Heart You.

A few months later they had a baby girl at their home and daily they were learning more of love, happiness and faith from her. And their respect for each other prospered even more, when they called the name of their Beloved.

Wife : I am Happy that you let had my Wish. Thank You.

Husband : But why you choose this name?

Wife : Because, It symbolizes the feminine side of God.

Husband : Not to mention, but I am still surprised about your decision for Surname.

Wife : Why it is Surprise for you? We the people have been following rules made by the people, since the time immemorial, so what’s wrong if I come between theirs. You know, I believe we all are same, so why to divide ourselves by inventing new religions and new sirnames. Let our beloved be free from this filthy conspiracy made by the cunning minds of our society in a way to divide Humanity.

Husband : I love you my Dear. Thanks a lot for naming our Beloved “Earth”.

Wife : *smiles* You are welcome my friend.

They see their two year old beloved holding a Lily and curiously trying to analyze with small delicate hands. And sitting under the tree they call, “Earth, come here.” Earth look upon them with a special shining in her eyes and in her own language, she replies by walking toward them. *more smiles*

I am You

I say to the dust in the mist,

Stay.

To the morning Sun,

Keep moving.

I am in the fragrance of flowers,

In the air around the wings of bird,

I am on the surf of sea water,

On the pink toe of a young child,

Dangling his feet under water,

I am there.

I say to your doubts,

Stay.

To your dreams,

Keep moving.

I am in your every breathe,

In the eyes of the dreaming child,

I am on the path you walk,

On every step you move further,

Moving towards your faith,

I am there.

Say who I am?

Say I am you.

I am you.

The Dimension

The morning was beautiful as it was.
The birds were chattering.
The water down the river side was flowing.
The sun was about to rise.

And the most blissful thing was that
She was in my eyes.
And my every thought,
Each and every moment

She was the punctuation of my life.
For my every unreason able smile
The reason for my joy,
An unknown reason for crying

A Cup of Wine

I asked my beloved for a glass of Wine,

It filled both of us with happiness.

I was dead before my death,

Because the Wine was from her Cup.
